	Clowning in Russia with PATCH ADAMS "Clowning for Cowards" Clown Groups

As part of her program to lighten up, Barbara became a clown and toured Russian hospitals and orphanages with clown/MD Patch Adams, who believes laughter is the best medicine and who says: "The most revolutionary thing you can do to change the world is to be a happy person."

Barbara's workshops inspired the forming of the Coastal Caring Clown group on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. The group is eager to have clowns from all over Australia and the world come and visit and offer us their expertise. We will happily host you in our homes in this beautiful part of Australia. CLOWNING IN RUSSIA WITH PATCH ADAMS (talk)

It's not unusual for this MD to consult with patients while dressed as a clown and riding a unicycle. Every year Patch takes a troupe of clowns (no experience necessary) on a "Nasal Diplomacy" tour to Russia where they spread cheer in hospitals, orphanages and old people's homes. More ...

CLOWNING FOR COWARDS (workshop)
This workshop is an opportunity for "Closet Clowns", the curious and even the relentlessly serious to expand their SQ (Silliness Quotient) as we safely, gently and funly sample the art of clowning. We will address Clown Principles and Purpose, characters, gags, make-up and wardrobe. Bring -- if possible -- a mirror, Clowny clothes, props, and attitudes. More ...

From President Christine Rule: "We are happy to have non-clowns come along to our meetings as that's the way to get new members - and we always need more. I get there at 6:30pm [and] we officially start at 7pm [when] I generally update clowns on what has happened since we last met; we then go through coming activities and usually by 7:30 we are ready for our special guest. Tea/coffee/biscuits etc are provided and we are usually all leaving by 9pm."
