Lots of house moves inspired my parody song. If you’re moving house, I’m sure you’ll relate and you, too, can sing it to the tune of “My Favorite Things”.
Moving House – “My Favorite Things”
Rooms full of boxes and wide ranging clutter
All that I do makes it worse and not better
Chaos around like birds beating their wings
These are a few of my ‘favorite’ things
When I pack up
Can’t find a spoon or cup
And I cry and curse
I simply remember my ‘favorite’ things
And then I can feel much worse
Everyone urging me to rush and get ready
Blundering around with my nerves all unsteady
Boxes to tape and to tie up with strings
These are a few of my ‘favorite’ things
When nothing looks right
And I’m uptight
And my bladder bursts
I simply remember my ‘favorite’ things
And then I can feel much worse
My packing’s not finished, the movers are waiting
I’ve just dropped the fridge on my foot and its aching
Moving and all of the ‘pleasures’ it brings
These are a few of my favorite’ things
When it’s all done
I think, At last I’ve won!
But–I can’t find my purse
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I can feel much worse.
